男，生于1965年，祖籍陕西省渭南市，博士，研究员，博士生导师；中国科学院大学教授，中国科学院动物研究所动物进化与系统学重点实验室副主任，鸟类学研究组组长。国家杰出青年科学基金项目获得者，国家高层次人才计划重点领域创新团队负责人，入选百千万人才工程。
