| 男，生于1965年，祖籍陕西省渭南市，博士，研究员，博士生导师；中国科学院大学教授，中国科学院动物研究所动物进化与系统学重点实验室副主任，鸟类学研究组组长。国家杰出青年科学基金项目获得者，国家高层次人才计划重点领域创新团队负责人，入选百千万人才工程。

| 1994年于中国科学院动物研究所获得博士学位。1996年晋升副研究员，2000年晋升研究员。1998,10 - 2000,2 访问美国华盛顿大学、加州科学院和美国密西根大学。发表论文、论著300篇（部），其中Science, Lancet, National Science Review, PNAS, Nature Communications, Molecular Biology and Evolution, Molecular Ecology, Global Ecology and Biogeography, Diversity and Distribution, Journal of Biogeography等SCI源刊论文160篇。
